Taller single panel climbing walls may benefit from attaching the hand and foot holds before putting it up since there may be some difficulty attaching these when the wall is already up. In spite of this, many home based single panel climbing walls are not so high that a ladder cannot solve the attachment problem. It is wise not to make the wall too high because the owner might see the need to change the design of the hand and foot holds to increase or decrease difficulty.



Making a woodie can be done in a single day, provided the climbing wall parts and other basic necessities for the framework are complete. Having a basic concept or design which has been seen and examined by a builder may be best since the structure needs to be safe and structurally sound.
